I had only one full day in chitwan to see it. The agency had a lot 1 day programs and longer ones if you want to choose from. The guides were super helpful, knowledgeable, and nice. I saw a lot more than i expected and i would most definitely book with them again when i come back.

We did the 2 night jungle trek. It was absolutely incredible and I could not recommend it more. Our guides Mandan and Ramesh were professional, passionate about wildlife, and unbelievably knowledgeable. They took great care of us, were fantastic company, and were some of the best guides we have experienced worldwide. They really made the experience, which was already fantastic by itself, even more memorable. The company overall, run by the wonderful Rajendra, took care of everything perfectly and made us feel at home and looked after the whole time. Rajendra is a very good man, passionate about conservation, and as such has built a team of likeminded people. I look forward to the day I can return and spend some more time with such a brilliant team.

There is no experience of the jungle comparative to trekking through it. We did the jeep safari but think of this. Which experience allows you to “feel the jungle”? Which experience allows you to get out of the noisy beaten track? I can’t praise enough the chance to see bird life. We saw hardly any bird life on the jeep trek though, during trekking, we saw birds every day. For example, on day 2 we saw 36 different species…On day 3 we “rushed through” the most amazing bird area in seek of “more special moments” but it was good enough. There we saw the rare for Nepal bird species “red headed trogon”. The first morning we floated quietly down the Rapti River in a traditional canoe. It was so special to see the plethora of water birds just metres away. Sleeping at Madi village during night 2 was an unexpected cultural experience. It shaded the enjoyment from the Tharu cultural village we visited in Sauraha as we did spend the night in traditional mud huts. Our trek was organised by the Crazy Tigers company. Anish and Ram, our guides, spoke very good English and were very knowledgeable and caring. They could identify all bird species from afar, they knew where and what animal was around by interpreting the jungle sounds. True to the Ghurkha Nepalese spirit, they were fearless to protect us when we encountered a sloth bear. We frequently saw rhino, and rhino cubs, wild boar, many species of deer, both species of crocodiles, squirrels, and 2 species of monkeys. Our group are trekkers; we had just finished the Manaslu circuit. The Chitwan safari three day/ four-night trek was a fantastic addition to our Nepali trekking visit. One doesn’t have to be super fit to do the jungle safari trek. The land is flat and the walking isn’t brisk. The days though are long, starting at 8am and reaching the villages at 5:30pm. One needs stamina to stay out all this time. It was worth it.

I was able to contact the owner/organizer to customize my tour. It ended up being exactly what I wanted. I highly recommend the multi day trekking tour if you have time. And if you are considering booking something, I could not recommend my guides, Ramez and Anish enough. I am a solo female traveler, and they took excellent care of me. They were super professional while keeping it fun and interesting! You should definitely inquire if they are available for your tour. They were my lucky tour guides. We saw so many animals because of their expertise and ability to spot the animals. Overall fantastic experience!

Wir machten den eintägigen Junglewalk mit den Crazy Tigers. Wir waren sehr zufrieden und verbrachten einen tollen Tag im Park. Anish und Ramesh machten einen super Job. Wir können sie wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

TripAdvisor Reviews

  • star rating  Fantastic chitwan experience - Had an amazing time during our 3 night stay in chitwan with The chitwan Jungle Guides. Manager Rajendra and our guide Ram ensured a smooth and exciting experience from start... read more to finish. Rajendra was able to answer any questions or concerns that we had, and Ram was very knowledgeable of plants, birds, and wildlife.

We had two amazing tiger sightings, one where a tiger chased a leopard up a tree! We were extremely fortunate during our jeep safari, enjoyed a relaxing canoe down the river, and had a pleasant overnight stay in the jungle lookout tower.

We were also served some of the best homemade breakfast, lunch, and dinner that we have eaten in Nepal as part of the experience. We would highly recommend The Chitwan Jungle Guides to anyone wishing for the best possible Chitwan Safari.

  • star rating  Spectacular experience with wonderful guides! - We (a Dutch couple) went on a two day walking tour in the jungle with our guides
Anish and Ramesh. The first day we had a two hour Canoe tour... read more and at night we slept in a hotel next to the river and the second day we slept in a jungle tower. We absolutely loved the tour. Before we booked we were a bit concerned about our safety. Walking long distances in the jungle with so many wild animals. But our guides Anish and Ramesh made us very comfortable. They were calm and had a lot of knowledge about the park and all the animals that stayed in the park. At one point we encountered a rhino with a baby. They were quite close and the mother got a bit aggressive. Our guides handled it extremely professional and kept us safe the whole time. The first night was nice, good food and good beds + hot shower. The second night in the jungle tower was very special. The view was spectacular. An enormous experience you should not miss out on. During the trip we had a lot of food. We are quite big eaters but we always got more food than we could eat. We would 100% recommend this trip!

star rating  Two great jungle days: Rhinos and a tiger - We did two days of “jungle activities” together with the Chitwan Jungle Guides.

Very happy with their services! Excellent and friendly communication with the manager Raj, overall reasonably... read more priced and we had knowledgeable and easygoing guides in Ram and Aniss (apologies if I got the spelling wrong here), who both were very good at spotting interesting things and at providing information about what we saw.

Day 1 started with pickup at our hotel and breakfast at the Jungle Guides’ office. Then an early morning canoe trip (lots of birds, crocs and gavials), followed by a long – appr. ~15 km – jungle walk. Lunch was provided, we ate in one of the watchtowers. Highlights were meeting up with the rangers and their elephants, and, above all, a couple of rhino encounters. We got pretty close – a great experience. We also saw some tiger tracks.

Day 2 was a full day in a jeep. We met an elephant (a wild one this time), some more rhinos – and, albeit only for a few seconds and from a distance, we also managed to see a tiger crossing our path. So we were lucky!

We were in Chitwan in November, which I understand is not the perfect time for wildlife sightings as the vegetation is high and thick. So there were fairly long periods without any animal sightings all throughout the days, but despite this we are very happy with the wildlife we got to see.

The second day also included a visit to the gavial breeding centre.

Both day were private tours; just us (three people) and the guides. Again, can highly recommend the Chitwan Jungle Guides.

star rating  Great tour with attentive service - I enrolled for a 3 days 2 nights trip with chitwan Jungle tour (half day trip + full day trip + treehouse night).
Anish was our tour guide for... read more all 3 days. He knows the forest very well. We were able to see different animals. He is clear in explaining details and tentative to our needs.
Raj is the company owner and he is very efficient. We may have some hit and miss on sighting on the first half day jungle tour, but he has well disclaimed and managed the expectation well.
Our flight from chitwan to pokhara was cancelled when we leave. Raj is very responsive in giving us advice and we were able to get to pokhara safely at the end.
Raj’s pricing and tourguide partnership is reasonable and professional. Highly recommended for a great travel experience.

PS their office is NOT near hotel Riverside per google described. They are in mulla Chowk and i have told google to change.
